The vine of Castell'Arquato

The culture of the vive tree and the production of the vine have had big importance, in C.A. and around, till ancient times.
This is confirmed by parchments, that are kept in the historical file of the Collegiata. On these papers is written that, due to the ground and the climate, on the possession of the church were producted very good grapes, from which they got excellent vines.

	Monterosso color straw or yellow a little gilded. Delicate smell. Dry or medium sweet. Normally, a little sparkling ::
	Gutturnio color red ruby. Smell : dry or medium sweet. Can be sparkling::
	Bonarda color red ruby, but more dark than Gutturnio. Flavour : normally medium sweet with the characteristic smell of almond and a little sparkling.::
	Ortrugo color straw light. Delicate perfume. Dry or medium sweet with bitterish aftertaste.::
